Arborist

October 13, 2020

Are you looking for an outside job with variety and excitement?  Have you ever considered a job as an Arborist?

Bet you haven’t, but maybe you should.   What is an Arborist?  Arborists plant and remove trees, prune branches and treat diseases in trees.  Chances of getting a job as an arborist in NZ are good at the moment due to high demand for their services and a shortage of trainees.  Trainees can expect to be paid between $19-$22 per hour, while trained arborists can earn between $22-$35 per hour.  Once trained Arborists can work anywhere in the world.

A local Arborist firm has offered an Upper Hutt College student the opportunity for work experience with their small family owned company, with the chance that this will become a full-time apprenticeship.

They are looking for someone:

  • Hardworking
  • Punctual
  • Physically fit, as this can be demanding work.
  • Not afraid of heights.
